Market at “BLÅ” in Oslo, August 2022

We just love it ! Meeting people, mingling and talking…selling our creativity…

Market at “The Prison”, “Fengselet” in Hønefoss

The old-fashioned way of meeting people and selling stuff.
Woolen jacket, dresses, gloves and hoods. Fairyland inside out…
Paintings and silk-prints. Let the creativity flow.

Horizontal? A work that is made to hang vertical?
More work to do…before it could fly up to the North.

The Process….in Norwegian.

Kunst Rett Vest, 10 year anniversary,
Dikemark, Asker,
September 10th -25th 2016

“NO No No”, I thought. “In a former mental hospital?! NEVER!”
But there were several looms left behind all over the house, and my mind was spinning with ideas after the open house for artists early spring.

Weaving? On a loom for rugs? Tapestry? Set up a weave? Never done so.
Did the project leader believe I would make it when I told I had to google how to do everything? Nope.
“When you don’t know what you can do, you can do it even better”, was my mantra. Sometimes it is a blessing not knowing how much work is ahead..

Humanitarian work

In-between textiles, colors, photo, paint, steel and equations, I do conduct the stress management program offered by an international volunteer based organisation, The Art of Living.  An educational and humanitarian NGO (Non Governmental Organisation). The Art of Living movement has spread peace across communities through diverse humanitarian projects, including conflict resolution, disaster relief, sustainable rural development, empowerment of women, prisoner rehabilitation, education for all and environmental sustainability.

The editor in the Norwegian magazine MANN was attending a stress management program early summer…. here are his own words from that weekend…in Norwegian.

Kunst Rett Vest, Berger Museum, Svelvik, September 11th – 21st 2014

Artists from 16 municipalities vest of Oslo had a joint Exhibition at Fossekleiva kultursenter and Berger Museum.

Before the show I had to mount the work again, -and also add some more new black roses.

This black dress, which is not possible to wear – no armpits, with black roses was shown in Sandvika during the exhibition period.

In the weekends we all opened the doors to our studios for you to have a look on how we work and ask us all the questions you want about the process, ideas, and results. Whether you will get the answers you want or like…I don’t know. And if you see something you really fancy, you may even buy it. Anyhow: You are  very welcome!

Designtorget, Sandvika, December 7th – 8th 2013

Due time to wake up the clothes after a looong sleep. They were mostly pack down and stored while I went to Gothenburg for studies..long ago. We were all happy to get going again…both me and the jackets, and dresses, and gloves, and pillows (they were actually new, -the sewing machine didn’t fancy that job at all…).

Assisting making the huge drawings with charcoal on the walls…the sound itself rubbing the charcoal up and down and here and there on the walls for days was like meditating…

Belleville, Paris, May 4th – 6th 2007

Local and international artists, performers, politicians and musicians gather in the small village-cinema at Stabekk and in Belleville to show each other what they have been working on during the last months.
These meetings – between world-stars and local amateurs – creates unique possibilities for artistic development and unforgettable memories for all the visitors and the local inhabitants.
The goal is to create friendship and artistic cooperation over national borders and cultural differences – and to show how rich and deep the life can be in small communities like Belleville and Stabekk. The aim is to create a world-wide network of creative and goodwilling people, around the axis between France and Norway.

Et Årsverk, meaning “A Year’s Work”, is a Norwegian happening that takes place every year at Stabekk outside Oslo the last week-end before Christmas and it did also for some years in May in Belleville, the lovely “village” in central Paris, where the creative exchange continued from the meeting at Stabekk.

A world of imagination.
On the Opening night I am playing with some of the text from “Per Gynt” by Henrik Ibsen together with fashion, tradition, art and fairytales, jumping beyond my limits on the theme “Dreams and Fairytales”.

Agni Zotis was sharing her gallery and great friends with me.

Bangalore, February 17th -19th 2006

Jakkur Airfield, day 1 of  Silver Jubilee for The Art of Living Foundation; behind the stage housing 10.000 people, in a small shelter together with sand and pipes we all met for the first time.  During that day new friendships were made, art being created, wonderings happened.
Who were we in the hut? 30 artists from all over the globe who Mukesh Panika had joined together to get to know each other and share diversity in art and culture.

For 3 days we shared and created, and mingled with rest of the 2.5 or was it 3? million people joined together for peace . Magic and Divine. Words can’t describe those days, so let the pictures tell the rest…
