Amdy Faye

Amdy Faye has signed for Leeds until January

Midfielder Amdy Faye has signed a short term contract that will see him stay with Leeds United until January.

The 33 year old former Stoke player played in a reserve game on Tuesday and Simon Grayson says he has done what was expected. Faye provides some top level experience to the Leeds midfield as well as a more defensive option to the other central players.

Faye is not currently match fit but Simon Grayson expects this not to be a problem. Grayson will be keeping an eye on his progress until January when, like recent acquisition Ramon Nunez, a decision on his future with the club will be made.

Meanwhile our two most recent injury concerns, Robert Snodgrass and Billy Paynter, have resumed training and are set to play in a behind closed doors game on Tuesday as they continue their recovery. Simon Grayson has been pleased with their progress after the duo picked up injuries in pre-season.

Leeds return to action this Saturday at home to Swansea after the recent international break.
