Colonna report: UNRWA’s neutrality mechanisms are ‘robust’, but more is needed to regain donor trust
UNRWA has the UN system’s most elaborate mechanisms for upholding the humanitarian principle of neutrality, but it still requires improvements, an independent review concludes. It finds that decision makers in donor capitals often feel that the information shared by UNRWA does not meet their needs. Meanwhile, UNRWA says it is “hanging by a thread, not just financially – but also politically.”
