Malawi - Afrikas varme hjerte

Malawi -The warm heart of Africa

Malawi is a beautiful country in South-East Africa. The people are well known to be very friendly and hospitable. Malawi has avoided many problems that haunt the African continent. The country is therefore often left in the dark while places of war, drought or ethnic conflicts receive the main part of attention.

Malawi is bordering to Tanzania, Zambia and Mocambique and has 16 mill inhabitants. Almost 90 percent of the population is living from agriculture, and the main crops are maize, beans, rice, tobacco and peanuts.
Malawi has multiparti-democracy since 1994. Low level of education, bureaucracy and lack of maintenance is however a challenge. The economy is highly dependant on agricultural exports, and the country is vulnerable for poor trade conditions and droughts.

Flott plass
