IBM's J2ME Java Virtual Machine -J9- Now Enabled for Reliable Wireless Messaging By Softwired's iBus//Mobile

November 7, 2001

Softwired AG Has Added Support Of IBM's J9 Virtual Machine To Its Market Leading JMS iBus//Mobile Middleware Platform

Softwired's award winning iBus//Mobile middleware is uniquely designed to enable rapid development of interactive client/server applications for the wireless data market, enabling corporations to develop and deploy compelling mobile applications to Java enabled devices.

iBus//Mobile offers rich end-user experience by supporting mobile Java applications that are highly interactive, user friendly, and which function reliably even when mobile devices lose network coverage. iBus//Mobile is the only true end-to-end JMS messaging middleware solution available on the market today.

IBM's J9 MIDP targets all operating systems including the Palm OS, whose licensed vendors are Palm Inc., Symbol Technologies, Handspring, IBM, HandEra, Kyocera, Samsung and Sony.

Targeted Devices include:

-- IBM WorkPad PC

-- HandEra 330 (TRG Pro)

-- Kyocera Smartphone Series QCP. 6035

-- Samsung I300

-- Sony CLIE

-- Symbol SPT 1700

Dr. Silvano Maffeis, CTO of Softwired: "We are delighted about our iBus//Mobile solution for J9 from IBM incorporated through customer demand. iBus//Mobile is the only product available on the market for connecting Java-enabled devices (J2ME) to Java server applications (J2EE) by taking full advantage of the Java Message Service (JMS) standard and packet-oriented wireless networks such as GPRS and CDPD. Furthermore, companies can use their existing J2EE application servers (e.g. BEA WebLogic or IBM WebSphere) to deploy mobile services and connect to these services using Java enabled devices such as JavaPhones, Palm PDAs, and PocketPCs. Based on the standard JMS API, Softwired's iBus//Mobile is interoperable with every J2EE application server or JMS provider."
